Decks / Porches Project Gallery

Decks

This family wanted to get rid of a rotting deck and build something appropriate for the neighborhood and large gatherings.  W created the design with virtually exact depictions prior to construction.  The deck was built with pressure treated wood then backer board and slate for the flooring.  The rails are wrought iron with stone columns.  The facing is stucco and the ceiling underneath is bead board.  The concrete floor was redone with a stamped edge.  It became quite a place to entertain and a great space underneath for the kids to play.

The deck was not fitting of the house and blazing hot in the afternoons.  We designed it with cedar and added the pergola for shade.

The homeowners wanted a two story addition along with a deck to overlook a fast running creek. The land is severely sloped and provides quite a view. The resulting octagonal deck, two story addition and landscape provide a tranquil setting with a great view.

Porches

The house had dated siding and needed a space outside off a beautiful kitchen.  The deck was built at two levels with access from three doors.  The screen porch was added with an octagon end.  The siding was replaced with western red cedar shingles.  The water feature was added for a soothing sound.  One can view the landscaped yard from the kitchen, deck or screen porch.  We also installed gutters and painted along with the landscaping.

The gentleman of the house wanted a nice place to go outside and be able to watch sporting events.  So we closed in a deck and gave him a screen porch that melded into the house.

The homeowner had a family member confined to a wheel chair.  With a 10’ drop from street level to the bottom of the stairs (In 55’laterally) there was virtually no way the two could visit.  The house also needed a little curbside appeal.  We cut brush and demoed the old stair/porch.  The new walkway and porch floor were covered with composite deck boards.  We curved the walkway around the trees and at the curb we did a stamped concrete pad.  The porch columns have a Craftsman flair and the ceiling is finished.  The house went from inaccessible to accessible with style.

A customer with a passion for outdoor cooking and a beautiful pool in a great setting wanted cover and a kitchen.  We came up with a clear ceiling gazebo and timber construction with a protective stucco back and stone columns.  The back has the appliances and there is an island bar counter with a sink.  The Gazebo finished the pool area.
