The customer has a formal taste and wanted a barrel ceiling in the foyer, a dome ceiling in the dining and a tray in the hall. All of the columns were added to finish the look. The dome and tray were built as trays then finished accordingly. The dome required hand finishing with a number of plaster layers. Note all finishes are smooth. The accent lighting was also added.
Brick Walk
The client wanted a walk way around the house to match the one from the street to porch. We laid it out, dug to depth, poured concrete, set and grouted the bricks to a match.
Pool/Cabana
After completing their basement as a 200SF Mother-in-law suite with a full kitchen and two baths we built a pool with a cabana that would become his workshop. The land was undeveloped and we took the project from development to finished landscape. The project was completed in 35 days.
Turret
We were hired to redo what had been attempted on the house concerning framing, roofing, windows and stucco. We demoed the stucco, reframed the house cosmetically and structurally altering the window placements. We also added the 45’ tall Octagonal Turret. Then, reset the windows, did the stucco work and roofed the house with a Mission S concrete tile.
Great Room
A very dark and dated Great Room was given a face lift with new hardwood flooring, taking the paneling down, painting and changing fixtures.
Exterior Finish
A dated look was changed into a bungalow style. The stone was added along with cedar shingles and painting the trim.
Fire Place
Here are two examples of taking fireplaces in disrepair and making them beautiful. One is in stone and the other is granite.
Stairway
This stairwell was drywall with a pine cap rail. It is also the first thing one sees when entering the house. The client wanted to sell in a tough market so we did a make over to give the house a nice focal point when entering. The floors were refinished. The stairwell was done in oak and wrought iron. The stair parts and the main floor were done in two different colors of stain for contrast. Under Columns you can see the other side of the entry and makeover.
Columns
This makeover was in conjunction with “Stairway”. This is the other side of the entry. The room created by the walls remained when the walls were taken out and the columns installed. The big difference was how the area opened up and gave a much richer feeling. The house was sold in a subdivision where 25% of the homes were for sale.
Bubbling Boulder
This is a straight forward way to bring a relaxing sound to the backyard along with a beautiful focal point. There is very little cost in electricity to run the pump and with a rainwater catchment system a green source for water.
Foyer
The client wanted to take a small entry with a low ceiling and give it some pizzazz as the entrance to a bungalow remake. The ceiling was reframed and vaulted. The walls were stripped of wall paper and a heavy texture added. The crown was kept for affect. The chandelier was changed out and a hammered copper medallion created in a box to house the arts and crafts fixture as well as can lights around the perimeter. The prairie style door was added to help bring light in and give the room a sense of size. It is protected by a good sized porch. The stairs, railing and landing were changed to oak with wrought iron balusters. The finishing touches were a wool sisal runner on the stairs and old stain glass window hung in the existing window.
