For three years the customer dreamed of having a Rainwater Harvesting System to water raised beds. To this end 6” gutters with a leaf guard were installed along with a Wet Rainwater System. This consists of two 1550 Gallon Poly Tanks, 4” PVC downspouts and conveyance pipes – all glued. The water will go through the downspouts and the waters weight along with suction (siphoning) will push/pull the water into the tanks. The tanks will fill separately and in concert with a 4” overflow. More tanks can be added. The water will go to the beds by way of a 1 hp on demand pump. With this pump a pressure tank is not needed.

We built a 40x60 barn for the customer.  The barn is located 350 feet from the pump house.  We trenched and piped from the barn to the pump house and to their house and guest cabin.  We installed two 3000 gallon tanks at the barn and one at the pump house for 9000 gallons of storage.  The barn will catch approximately 1440 gallons of water per inch of rain.  The water is held in the barn tanks and gravity feeds to the pump house tank.  There the water is sent to a pressure tank, filtration and UV then to the source that calls for it back up the hill.  There is also an existing well in the pump house.  The system can be switched to well water if needed.
